A board-certified hand surgeon, Dr. Galpern is dedicated to providing the entire continuum of hand, wrist, and arm care on-site at Comprehensive Hand Surgery Center. He uses his extensive training and knowledge in surgical and nonsurgical treatments for traumatic, degenerative, and repetitive strain injuries (RSIs). Patients can rely on him to guide them through the medical process, from prompt and accurate diagnosis to treatment and rehabilitation. Dr. Galpern has practiced in Richmond since 2011.
Dr. Galpern earned his medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn. He completed a residency at New York Methodist Hospital, also in Brooklyn, followed by a hand surgery fellowship at the Christine M. Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery in Louisville, Kentucky. A second-hand surgery fellowship took him to Australia, where he trained at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, Queensland.
